Dirk Van Gysel qualified as a pediatrician at the University of Leuven in Belgium and further subspecialised in pediatric dermatology at the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam the Netherlands. He obtained his PhD at the University of Ghent in Belgium in 2009 with the Aalst Allergy Study.
