Professor of Pediatric Immunology, University of Gothenburg, and at Division of Immunology, The Queen Silvia Children's Hospital
Dr Anders Fasth is Professor of Pediatric Immunology at University of Gothenburg, and at Division of Immunology, The Queen Silvia Children's Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden. He is also a Consultant at Servicio de Inmunología y Reumatología Pediátrica, Hospital Nacional de Niños ''Dr. Carlos Sáenz Herrera,'' San José, Costa Rica and the Director of the Swedish National Cord Blood Bank. During 1984 – 2011 he served as the Director of Hematopoietic Cell Therapy Program at the Queen Silvia Children's Hospital. His main field of research is primary immunodeficiencies, epidemiology of pediatric rheumatic disorders and osteopetrosis, which has resulted in more than 200 scientific articles and book chapters. He is an honorary member of the Costa Rican Pediatric Association and the Latin American Society of Immunodeficiency and as well received Award of Recognition for the Advancement of Medical Science in Costa Rica from the Parliament of Costa Rica and an award of recognition for the development of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in Costa Rica from Hospital Nacional de Niños, "Carlos Sáenz Herrera".
