Christina Akre holds a PhD in Life Sciences from the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) and a Master’s degree in Anthropology and Sociology from the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland). She also trained during 12 months as a research fellow at the Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (MA, USA). She leads studies on adolescent health at the Lausanne University Hospital and at the Center for Primary Care and Public Health (Unisante), University of Lausanne. Her main fields of expertise are in transition from pediatric to adult care, adolescents with chronic conditions and their families, sexuality, and substance use among adolescents and young adults. She is also head of the Platform of qualitative research at Unisante, where she supervises research and teaches qualitative
research in the field of public health and clinical research.
