Professor of Public Health, Director and founder of the Centre, Centre for Research on Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CFBUPH)
Curt Hagquist is Professor of Public Health. He is director and founder of the Centre for Research on Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CFBUPH) at Karlstad University, Sweden. He is a trained social worker and gained his PhD in Social work in 1997 at the University of Gothenburg. His research fields include adolescent mental health, epidemiology, Rasch Measurement Theory, and social determinants of health. In 2006­-2012 he worked as project manager at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, organising two State of the Science conferences on child and adolescent mental health. As project manager at the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare, Hagquist was responsible for the preparations for the nationwide adolescent mental health survey in 2009. He was the Swedish representative in the European Kidscreen project and Principal Investigator for the Swedish part of the Nordic Youth study in 2010. Hagquist is also a member of the Swedish HBSC team. Since the start of the adolescent study Young in Värmland in 1988, he has been the principal investigator of the study. Hagquist is also the Principal Investigator of the research program "The impacts of changed living conditions on child and adolescent mental health", which is funded by the Swedish Research Council for Health, Working Life and Welfare during 2013­-2018.
