EIP believes that we all should now take on the role of reducing paper and printing waste so we have taken some steps to make the Excellence in Pediatrics Conference more sustainable. Learn what changes we are planning for the 2020 conference aiming to reduce printing and paper waste.

We are determined to pursue more environmentally friendly and ecologically responsible practices, which will help protect the environment and sustain its natural resources for current and future generations. Producing paper not only takes a lot of energy but it also involves cutting down excessive amounts of trees.

➡️  Online instead of printed abstract book  ✔️

In previous years all approved abstracts were included in the printed conference final program. From 2020 onwards the conference abstract book will only be available online resulting in a 60% reduction of the paper and printing waste.

➡️  Detailed program via the Mobile App  ✔️

Replacing the printed detailed programme (which includes the Learning Objectives for each session) with the mobile app will not only reduce paper and printing waste, but the mobile app will also help delegates to better navigate throughout the conference, organise their personal agendas, and get real-time push notifications and alerts. As an exception, for this transitional year, a printed program At-A-Glance will be made available to all attendees.

➡️  Sessions and conference evaluation forms via the Mobile App  ✔️

Printed sessions evaluation forms will not be given to attendees when entering the halls. Instead, all delegates will be able to submit their feedback for any specific session using the mobile app while they are attending the session. Conference evaluation forms will only be completed online as part of the CME designation process. Making all feedback forms available through the mobile app will not only reduce printing waste but it will also be more convenient for delegates to fill and submit their feedback without delays at the entrance to the halls or the registration desks.

➡️  All types of Certificates will be sent via email  ✔️

Certificates of Attendance, Certificates of designated CME credits and Certificates of Presentation for Poster and Oral Presenters will only be sent via email after the conference. In previous years Certificates of Attendance were made available in a printed form via the registration desks on the last day of the event. This change will significantly reduce our paper and printing waste.

➡️  All types of Invitations and Notifications via the Mobile App  ✔️

All printed invitations and notifications for scientific and social events will now be sent through the Mobile App. Using the mobile app will not only reduce the printing waste but will also give EIP the ability to send real-time push notifications and reminders to all delegates and will help you organise your personal agendas and avoid missing the sessions that are of interest to you.
