Eric Legius is a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Human Genetics at KU Leuven, Belgium. His research primarily focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying the development of tumors and microdeletions in patients with neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder that causes tumors to form on nerve tissue. Additionally, Professor Legius investigates the pathogenesis of Legius syndrome, a genetic condition characterized by skin spots, learning disabilities, and other symptoms, as well as pseudarthrosis, a condition in which a bone fracture fails to heal properly. Through his work, Professor Legius aims to deepen the understanding of these genetic disorders and contribute to the development of more effective treatments.
