Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Institute for Health and Social Policy McGill University
Frank Elgar earned a PhD from Dalhousie University in developmental psychology and worked in university and government settings in Canada and Wales including Cardiff University, Welsh Assembly Government, University of Manitoba, and Carleton University. At McGill University, Frank is cross-appointed to the Institute for Health and Social Policy and Department of Psychiatry (Douglas Institute) in the Faculty of Medicine. He is also an Associate Member of the Department of Psychology and and holds a Canada Research Chair (Tier II) in Social Inequalities in Child Health. His research is a blend of health psychology and social epidemiology and examines social and structural determinants of children's health and health inequalities and school and family influences on youth mental health.
