Lauren completed her degree in South Africa in 2005 and gained significant experience in malnutrition, affecting both pediatric and adult patients. In 2009, she moved to the UK and specialised in pediatric nutrition. In 2011, Lauren began working as a specialist gastroenterology dietitian. She amassed extensive experience managing various gastroenterological and surgical conditions during her seven-year tenure at St George’s Hospital, where she led the care for patients with short bowel syndrome and those on Home Parenteral Nutrition. Lauren is particularly interested in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Coeliac Disease, functional gastrointestinal conditions, and gastrointestinal food allergies. Since 2018, Lauren has been working at Great Ormond Street Hospital. She currently serves as the Team Lead for Gastroenterology Dietitians and the Clinical Dietetic Lead for the Mucosal Immunology service. In addition to her clinical duties, Lauren is actively involved in research and development, has contributed to numerous publications, and is a regular speaker at national and international conferences.
