MD (Dr.), PhD and Researcher, Department of Public Health and Pediatrics Sciences of the University of Torino

Luisa de Sanctis works as Researcher at the Department of Public Health and Pediatrics Sciences of the University of Torino, Italy. She has gained clinical expertises in the neonatal field working for a 20 years period in the Subintensive Neonatal Unit of the main Children Hospital of Torino, with major fields of interest in perinatal endocrinology and the SGA-IUGR newborns. Actually she is the Head of the Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology Unit of the same hospital. She is Professor at the School of Medicine in the degree Courses for medical doctors, nurses and paediatric nurses at the University of Torino; she also teaches Auxology and Pediatric Endocrinology at the Pediatrics post-degree specialization course and within Neonatology and Pediatric Endocrinology National Masters. She is an active member of scientific national societies (Italian Society of Neonatology and the Italian Society of Pediatric Endocrinology), where has coordinated several study groups and has been referee of different research projects. She has extensive research experience in Ca/P metabolism and rare disorders. She’s a member of the EuroPHPnet, a network aimed to decipher the complex pathogenetic mechanisms and correct management of the Gs-alpha protein-related disorders. The results of her basic and clinical research projects have been published as peer-reviewed papers in high impact scientific journals (Total IF >250) and presented and discussed as lectures or oral contributions at national and international meetings.
