Marija Jelusic is Associate Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Zagreb, School of Medicine,  Head of the Department of Paediatric Rheumatology, Immunology and Allergology, University Hospital Centre (UHC) Zagreb, at the University of Zagreb, School of Medicine, and the Head of the Referral Centre for Paediatric and Adolescent Rheumatology Ministry of Health Republic of Croatia. 

 

She obtained her MD degree in 1998, as salutatorian, MSc degree (Molecular Cardiology) in 2002 and PhD degree (Rheumatology/Immunology) in 2005 from the University of Zagreb School of Medicine. She  completed her training in Pediatrics (2006), Pediatric Immunology and Allergology (2014) and Paediatric Rheumatology in the relevant departments of the UHC Zagreb, University of Zagreb School of Medicine, During that time she was visiting fellow at the University of Genoa, Institute G. Gaslini, Pediatria II, Reumatologia, EULAR Centre of Excellence in Rheumatology, Italy (2011) and at the University College of London, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Centre of Paediatric and Adolescent Rheumatology, London, UK (2009). She is the Chair of the Vasculitis Working Group of the Pediatric Rheumatology European Society (PReS), National co-ordinator of the Paediatric Rheumatology International Trail Organization (PRINTO), past Secretary of the Macrophage activation syndrome Working Group of PReS and National co-ordinator of EULAR (European League Against Rheumatism) Standing Committee for Paediatric Rheumatology. Prof. Jelusic has participated as principal investigator and co-investigator in many national and international projects, has been invited to speak in more than 100 national or international meetings. Her field of clinical and research activity focuses on paediatric rheumatology, with an emphasis on vasculitis, systemic connective tissue diseases, and juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
