President, French Interministerial Mission for Combating Drugs and Addictive Behaviors (MILDECA)
Nicolas PRISSE has been appointed Head of the French Interministerial Mission for Combating Drugs and Addictive Behaviors (MILDECA) by the Council of Ministers on February 8th, 2017, following the Prime Minister proposal. MILDECA is in charge of organizing and coordinating the State’s activities regarding addictive behaviors, particularly in areas such as prevention, treatment, reintegration, research, monitoring and fight against drug trafficking. Prior to this appointment, President PRISSE was adviser for the Minister for Health and Social Affairs, Ms Marisol TOURAINE, in charge in particular of public health policies (tobacco, alcohol, drugs, HIV). From 2012 to 2016, he was adviser to the Health and Social Affairs secretary general, in charge of the coordination of the regional public health networks. From 2003 to 2012, he provided his expertise at the Health department regarding addictions, health inequalities and public health planning and evaluation. He started his career as a physician assistant in the medical center of Ndjamena (Tchad) and spent several years as a researcher engineer on the epidemiology of cancers at the National Institute for Health and Medical Research.
