Petr Baďura received his PhD from the University of Groningen (Netherlands) in the field of Public Health. Since 2014, he has been involved in the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) research network, where he serves as a chair of the Leisure conceptual group and as a regular member of the Physical activity focus group. Within the Czech HBSC team, his responsibilities include methodological support and data analysis.
His primary research interests focus on adolescents’ leisure time – physical activity, sedentary behaviours and, in particular, participation in organized/extracurricular activities. He is currently immersed in development of a new comprehensive questionnaire on adolescents’ leisure. Another ongoing project of the Czech HBSC team he is involved in aims to disseminate HBSC research findings to policy-makers, journalists and general public in a comprehensible and appealing way.
