Richard Widmer is a highly experienced paediatric dentist with over 35 years of clinical practice, particularly at the Westmead Centre for Oral Health (WCOH) and The Children's Hospital at Westmead (CHW) in western Sydney, Australia. He holds a Master's Degree in Paediatric Dentistry from the University of Melbourne and is an Associate Clinical Professor in Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Sydney. In addition to his clinical work, Richard is the Director of the Dental Department at The Children's Hospital at Westmead.

Widmer is a passionate clinician and educator, regularly presenting lectures to students and professionals in various health sciences disciplines both locally and internationally. He has held prestigious leadership roles within the field of paediatric dentistry, including serving as President of the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry, the Australasian Academy of Paediatric Dentistry, and the Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry.

He co-edited the widely popular "Handbook of Pediatric Dentistry," which is now in its fifth edition and has been translated into seven languages.
