Dr. Sherief Janmohamed, born in 1981, obtained his MD degree at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in 2006. Since then he did both clinical and scientific work, leading to his PhD degree at the Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in 2014. His thesis was entitled: 'Infantile Hemangioma: Pathogenesis, Evaluation, and Therapy', and supervised by Prof. Dr. Arnold Oranje. For his work, he won the Ruggero Caputo's Young Pediatric Dermatologist Award. In 2014 he started his residency in Dermatology, Venereology, and Allergy under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jan Gutermuth at the University Hospital Brussels (UZ Brussel), Belgium, and since 2018 he is a board-certified Dermatologist. Since then he has been working as a Pediatric Dermatologist. His research projects include infantile hemangioma and atopic dermatitis, and for the latter he will soon initiate post-doctoral research in Chicago, IL, USA. He is also an Epidemiologist. Dr. Sherief Janmohamed is a board member of the Belgian Society of Pediatric Dermatology (BSPD), and a member of the European Society for Pediatric Dermatology (ESPD), European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR), European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), and the International Society of Atopic Dermatitis (ISAD).
