Specialist in Pediatric surgery, Royal London Hospital
Dr Simone Ragazzi has worked for over 22 years in pediatrics. Having completed his 5 year post-graduate training (CCST) in paediatric surgery in Milan, Italy, he has been working since 2000 in the UK. Initially based for 4 years at Great Ormond Street Hospital with Professor Spitz and Mr E Kiely in general paediatric surgery. He moved on to do 1 year in paediatric urology at the Institute of Child Health, setting up the NET trial (Laparotomy vs Drain for neonates with perforated NEC) that was completed by C. Rees and Professor Pierro in 2008. Since 2004 to date he has joined the Department of Paediatric Surgery at the Royal London Hospital, Barts Health, Whitechapel, London. In 2007, for 8 months, he has worked for charity at Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children in Colombo Sri Lanka as a senior surgical fellow. The hospital is one of the largest tertiary children hospital of the world with more than 2000 beds and with an average of more than 150 new admissions per day.
