Kirsten Minden is a paediatrician, specialised in paediatric rheumatology. She currently works at the paediatric rheumatology outpatient clinic of the Centre for chronically sick children at the Charité Berlin and the German Rheumatism Research Centre (DRFZ) in Berlin.

 

Kirsten Minden studied medicine in Berlin, Germany. After completing her medical studies (1992) she was trained as a paediatrician and paediatric rheumatologist at the 2nd Children’s Hospital Berlin-Buch. In addition to her clinical work, she has been working at the DRFZ as a scientist since 2001 and as a group leader since 2009. Her research focus is on epidemiology and health services research in paediatric rheumatology. She conducts several nationwide multicenter cohort studies on juvenile rheumatic diseases. Since 2005 she has been spokesperson of the Commission for Health Care and Quality Assurance and since 2014 spokesperson of the working group on transitional care of the German Society for Paediatric Rheumatology. From 2004-2017 she was a member of the Council of the German Society for Paediatric Rheumatology. Kirsten Minden is (co)author of 130 publications listed in PubMed (H-index 30 [web of science]).
