Dr. Ola Nilsson is a professor of pediatrics at Örebro University and senior consultant of pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology at Örebro University Hospital. He also holds a position as associate professor at Karolinska Institutet and senior consultant physician in general pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology at Karolinska University Hospital. 

He received his MD and PhD from the Karolinska Institutet, Sweden and completed post-doctoral research training and clinical fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, National Institutes of Health, USA. His research focuses on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of growth and growth disorders and he has published more than 60 scientific articles. He is secretary of the Pediatric Endocrine Society and a member of the Editorial Boards for the Journal of Endocrinology, the Journal of Molecular Endocrinology, and Frontiers in Genomic Endocrinology and is an active member of national and international pediatric societies and a frequent lecturer at national and international meetings. He has received several scientific awards from different societies including Swedish Pediatric Society, Pediatric Endocrine Society and the European Society of Pediatric Endocrinology.
