Pediatrician with Speciality Allergies, University College London, UNITED KINGDOM

Dr Penny Salt qualified in South Africa and completed her paediatric training in London and Oxford. She is a general paediatrician at University College London Hospital with an interest in paediatric allergy and was the service lead for 8 years until 2016. Dr Salt presented data on adolescent quality of life scores at British Society of Allergy and Immunology (BSACI) Annual Meeting BSACI 2016.

She developed the allergy service from a small single consultant service with 2 clinics a month to the current service that includes 4 consultants, a dedicated paediatric allergy dietician and an allergy clinical nurse specialist running 24 MDT clinics per month. The development of the service included the creation of a bespoke young people’s allergy clinic with the ability to transition to adult services. She was the clinical lead for Productive Outpatients, a quality improvement programme, that improved efficiency and quality of the paediatric allergy outpatient service. The data was presented at Health Services Research Network Symposium in 2013 and BSACI 2013.
